Psalm describes God!!

on .

Psalms 121 (NIV 1984)
1 I lift up my eyes to the hills–

where does my help come from?

2 My help comes from the Lord,

the Maker of heaven and earth.

3 He will not let your foot slip–

he who watches over you will not slumber;

4 indeed, he who watches over Israel

will neither slumber nor sleep.

5 The Lord watches over you–

the Lord is your shade at your right hand;

6 the sun will not harm you by day,

nor the moon by night.

7 The Lord will keep you from all harm–

he will watch over your life;

8 the Lord will watch over your coming and going

both now and forevermore.

What else needs to be said? All here. This is God!

Just a little...

on .

Mark 5:28-29 (NIV 1984)

28 because she thought, “If I just touch his clothes, I will be healed.” 29 Immediately her bleeding stopped and she felt in her body that she was freed from her suffering.

If I just touch the smallest part of Jesus, nay even a small thing that he has touched, I will be healed. Oh God give us that faith to believe you for freedom and healing for whatever binds us and holds us back.

HELP! I'm in trouble!

What should I do!!!!
Jesus said, "Come to me...." (Matthew 11:28)

     I know what's going on
     I know what to do
     I can help you.

"I won't reject you..." (John 6:37)
     No matter what you have done or not done
     No matter what you're doing now, even if its really bad
     No matter what people are doing to you or have done to you
     I'm never to busy to help.
     "Cast your cares on ME. I care about you (1 Peter 5:7)

Just try it. Jesus will not let you down.

Have we really died?

on .

John 12:24-25 (NIV 1984)
24 I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds. 25 The man who loves his life will lose it, while the man who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life.

Have we really died to this world? What in this world are we really hanging on to? In my case I hang on to a few things with the illusion that certain things I can not let go of nor can I live without. One is technology. Regularly I have to check and ensure that it doesn't take over my heart. I have others I have to die to as well.
We all have those things. For some it is bitterness and unforgiveness. Others it is captured by lust. Or control. Or power and position, looks, clothes, vehicles, pleasure, or being the under dog. Others it is freedom to choose. Or fear, worry or... We all have something that is way to precious, way to secretive and something we have hidden in the depths of our soul that we will not surrender and die to. We justify it well. But it needs to be put to death so we can truly live. Really live. Oh God show us the lies we have believed in so in dying to these things, we have truly live.

Faith is Active

on .

Hebrews 11:26 (NIV 1984)
26 He regarded disgrace for the sake of Christ as of greater value than the treasures of Egypt, because he was looking ahead to his reward.

Moses was willing to step aside from pleasure to seek God. How many of us are willing to forego pleasure for God? No we want God and our pleasure. Faith requires action on our part. As Noses found out, he made the right choice. What hard, pleasure forgoing choices is God calling us to? For each of us it will be different.
